For a Beautiful Smile and a Healthy Lifestyle
Having straight teeth looks great, but it can also help prevent costly dental and medical problems.
It might be hard to believe, but having straight teeth is very important for a healthy life. You may feel that crooked teeth do not bother you, so there’s no need to fix them. However, teeth need to be in the correct position to function properly and last a lifetime.
Nearly 9 out of 10 people experience mild crowding or misalignment of their teeth, which can lead to:
- Chipped front teeth or tooth loss.
- Food getting stuck between teeth.
- Difficulty flossing and cleaning between teeth.
- Increased risk of cavities between teeth.
- Gum disease, which can increase your risk for several systemic health issues such as heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, and stroke.
If you experience any of these conditions, schedule an appointment for an evaluation of your oral health.

When Is a Good Time to Start Invisalign?
Maybe you’ve been considering straightening your teeth for a while, or perhaps your dentist recently recommended it. Waiting to get started only leads to more months or years of dissatisfaction, and an increased risk of breaking teeth or dealing with related health issues. More importantly, teeth continue to shift over time.
Your teeth will be more misaligned in a few years than they are today.
The more movement your teeth need to straighten, the longer the treatment will take. It is easier, faster, and less expensive to straighten teeth before they become severely misaligned.
Don’t worry, treatment is affordable. The total cost is not due when you start treatment. Our office is happy to discuss payment options used by most of our patients.

What Can You Expect Once You Start Your Treatment?
Our mission is to help patients achieve overall health and a beautiful smile, starting with a solid foundation. That means straightening the teeth so they are properly aligned and functioning well. You are never too old to benefit from straightening your teeth.
Your Treatment Plan
The process begins with digital scans of your teeth to create your treatment plan. Using Invisalign’s software, we can predict how your teeth will change over time with Invisalign. We can even show you how your teeth will look weeks, months, and eventually at the end of treatment. Once your digital plan is finalized, your custom aligners are made using Invisalign’s advanced printing process.
The First Aligners
Once the aligners arrive, special fasteners are sometimes necessary. These are temporarily bonded to your teeth so you can easily clip in your aligners. Don’t worry, they are mostly invisible and are removed at the end of treatment.
Follow-Up Appointments
We will provide you with each set of clear aligners to wear for about two weeks. Your teeth will gradually shift into place with each set of aligners until they are correctly positioned. Visits to the office are scheduled roughly once every 1 to 2 months to ensure the treatment is progressing as planned.

Frequently Asked Questions
Invisalign is more comfortable and discrete than traditional braces. The clear, custom fit trays are nearly invisible and most people won’t even realize you’re wearing them. Plus, they can be removed for important presentations or dates! The smooth design of the clear trays prevents pinching or scratching, unlike the brackets from braces. If your trays rub on your gums, they can be easily adjusted. Invisalign trays apply a gentler pressure than braces and shift a few teeth at a time, making them much more comfortable than conventional braces and a great choice in cosmetic dentistry.
Invisalign makes gradual changes to your teeth. Minor changes can occur in just a few weeks with little discomfort, while more complex changes take place over a longer time to keep you as comfortable as possible. There may be some discomfort, but if your Invisalign hurts, let us know.
On average, it takes 6 to 12 months for your teeth to move into the correct position with Invisalign. Most people start noticing some movement within the first 6 weeks of wearing their first set of aligners. The more changes you want to see, the longer it will take, regardless of the orthodontic method you choose.
Twice a day, remove your tray and clean both your tray and your teeth before putting the tray back in. If you remove your aligner at any time, rinse it before putting it back in, and try not to leave it exposed to open air. In order to clean your Invisalign trays, you can soak your aligners in denture cleaner or Invisalign cleaning crystals, and rinse them before placing them back in your mouth. Do not eat or drink with your trays in, and avoid using toothpaste to clean your trays. We will provide you with detailed home care instructions when you receive your first trays.
Do not eat with your aligners in your mouth. Exposing your aligners to the strong chewing forces of eating can damage or even crack them. Additionally, it is just messy and not practical to eat with Invisalign in your mouth.
Yes, you should wear your aligners both day and night, except when eating or drinking. The aligners need to be worn continuously to shift your teeth over time, so they must be worn even while sleeping.
